Wow! What a weekend! Happy birthday to Emma! We were so fortunate to have Grammy and Gramps come to visit for the big #1 birthday. We were sad that thunderstorms kept away Aunt Casey though! Emma is doing great. She's sleeping well, she's eating well (she's actually scaring Mommy with how much she eats some times), she's getting more teeth (got another one over the weekend), and getting more steady on her feet. She's now standing more without support, and is taking 2-3 steps (very off balance steps, however) at a time.
As wonderful as it is to see this beautiful little baby grow and reach milestones, it is also a very sad thing for me. After giving her her bedtime bottle last night and rocking her to sleep in my arms, I had a VERY hard time putting her into her crib. I just wanted to hold her forever. After putting her down, I have to admit I couldn't hold back the tears. It's hard to believe that she's my last baby and won't be a baby for much longer! I'm not sure how I'm going to cope with Cooper going to Kindergarten in the fall! Anyway, enjoy the photos (sorry for the multitude of them, it was hard to narrow it down)!
Emma's first birthday present. Her first cheeto from Grammy!
She likes it!
A soccer game with Grammy and Gramps. I'm realizing how bad our kids are at team sports. Cooper was throwing out yellow cards to everyone and anyone who got too rough for him, (Gramps received 2 within the first 5 minutes and was subsequently thrown out of the game) and Isabel would just pick up the ball, and go pout by the tree, thereby ending the game pretty quickly. We'll have to work on this...
PEEK-A...
BOO!
Unfortunately Emma loves to be on Sadie's bed. This would be cute if not for how dirty this thing is.
Isabel was a great helper this weekend. She and Grammy went out shopping for the birthday party. Grammy reports Isabel was a great shopper (thank goodness they were at the dollar store)!
How cute is this picture????
The Birthday Girl!
Isabel licking the cupcake batter spoon. The funniest part was that 2 minutes later she got another spoon to scoop out of this spoon as she couldn't reach the bottom of it with her tongue!
Frosting cupcakes
This is a great picture, despite the cheeto face!
Cooper doing his transformers. He's so into these and legos lately.
Gramps and the birthday girl
A little sample of what's to come from Daddy
Isabel did a portrait of Emma on one of her presents. This girl could color/draw all day long if you let her.
Patiently awaiting the presents. Have no fear, Emma has lots of help.
LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!!
This one's not bad either! I realize how rare it is that we get a family picture with everyone smiling!
The presents...
And oh, the paper!!!
Let's get this party started!
How's this for a look of anticipation?
The "palming" of the cupcake...
The "shoveling" of the cupcake...
I think she likes it...
Look at the grip on this thing!
This may be one of my favorite videos ever!
And then she proceeded to try to eat the wrapper...
And this is her when the cupcake was gone and she realized she wasn't getting any more. Just imagine the loud scream that accompanied this look...
Oh, she's mad!
What an awesome blog post. YOu got some great pictures! Love the cupcake ones and so happy to see your Mom. SHe looks GREAT! Happy birthday to little Emma! Can't wait to see you all in a couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures and videos are so great! Looks like she definitely inherited the sweet tooth gene! :). Happy Birthday Emma. So sad to have missed it.
